"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic," said Arthur C. Clark. With the introduction of new types of technology available to the public such as iPods, tablet notebooks, bluetooth, etc. I have been affected by advancing technology throughout my life, as we all have. My father is a computer technician working for Phillips, so technology has been very present and usually up to date in my house. Frequently, experiences have been positive, finding out new ways to use technology for media and communication purposes. However, technology can be daunting, difficult, and even aggravating, as most of us already know, and has consistently been in my experiences.
I hope to learn the ways in which technology may aid my experience as a teacher, as well as the education of my future students. This, I believe, will be extremely beneficial through through quicker access to information for students and myself, as well as using computers and possibly other technology to teach my students.
My own learning style is very passive, I prefer to sit and listen to others. When introductions were occurring I could listen and remember better when I was not directly looking at someone, and when I was not distracted myself. This, I believe, is different from most people. Technology helps others as well as myself learn. It is a great aid, creating easy links to information through search engines, as well as interactive demonstrations and colorful pictorals for many subjects.
